Stampers Anonymous Blog Hop #17

Welcome to our Blog Hop #17. This month we had a colour challenge. With all that is going on in the world, I wanted to use some sentiments that would encourage others.

My first attempt at a card used “Above the clouds” stampset and punch die from the Annual Catalogue. I stamped the clouds in Smoky Slate and the distant balloons in Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo on Whisper White cardstock and layered it on Bermuda Bay.

I also stamped the large balloons in Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo on the same coloured cardstock and cut them out with the balloon punch. The sentiment was stamped in Smoky Slate on Whisper White and I used the Stitched Shape dies to cut it out before layering it on a Melon Mambo circle.

The second card was inspired by a card by Pam Strobel that I saw on the Demonstration Planning Place Facebook Group. I decided to use a similar layout but with the colour challenge colours. I used the Painted Poppies stamp set to stamp the poppy outlines in Smoky Slate on Whisper White Cardstock. Then I used the abstract shapes to add colour (I stamped these off first). This was layered on Smoky Slate and Bermuda Bay cardstock and I added a piece of Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding ribbon (coloured lightly in Melon Mambo). Under the front centrepiece I added a small strip of Melon Mambo.

The card base is Smoky Slate and the inside has one of the Peaceful Poppies stamps in Smoky Slate on Whisper White and layered on Melon Mambo.

The sentiment is from Good Morning Magnolia stamp set and cut out with one of the rectangular stitched framelits.

I think this one is probably my favourite card of the two and am excited on how it turned out.

    1. It is amazing how we have sets that we buy but never get around to using!!! Then we see something someone has done and are challenged to bring them out!!!

    1. I hadn’t thought about using Smoky Slate for the poppies and wondered how it would turn out. I was quite happy with the result. The other two colours bring it to life! I have been having fun doing a lot of creating in the past days!! Must post some of them very soon!!!!
